For me, taking a photograph fulfills a desire to capture a certain moment or item so that others can also enjoy and appreciate it.
Photography is a huge part of my art work. Many of my photographs find their way into both my mixed media and encaustic art work. There is something about photography and the ability to capture - for others to see, something that has profoundly inspired me for whatever reason.
Whether it be a misty morning with the trees enveloped in a low fog, ice laden fences, mail boxes, trees and branches after an ice storm, beautiful blooms or bright colored eggs in the Spring, the desire to capture and share goes deep within me. I especially love when a photograph ‘tells a story’ without words, when the picture invokes someone to think deeper or to wonder about the story behind it.
Many of my photographs have been assembled into cards that can either be sent or framed so that others can also enjoy them.
